Our inspiration, the curving forms on a Moroccan arch that caught our eye at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As a distinctive element of the non-figurative nature of Islamic art, the decorative arabesque emerged in a period of considerable creativity and intellectual advancement [730-790], the foliage-like forms emphasizing the structural beauty of architecture, the repetitive pattern symbolizing the infinite nature of creation.
